Welkom op de Trans Pennine Trail
Een nationale kust tot kust route voor recreatie en vervoer - voor wandelaars, fietsers en (in delen) ruiters
As the Trail uses many miles of old railway lines, canal towpaths and purpose built paths much of it is traffic-free and easy going so it is well suited for trips by families with young children, inexperienced cyclists and anyone wanting a nice relaxing ride.
Ride along old railways, kanalen, through the Solar System (yes, really!), along quiet river valleys – there are so many traffic-free sections of TPT to choose from! These range from a couple of miles up to return journey’s of 30 or more miles, so you can do as much or as little as you feel up to. We’ve also included some pointers on how to get to each section and what facilities are available on or close to each section.
To help you find the nearest traffic-free section of the Trans Pennine Trail to you, we have divided the route into three areas – Oosten, Centraal en West. Alternatief, you can download this information as a pdf file hier.
