Hello! I’m Sophie Squirrel – always curious and quick, I love exploring the treetops and discovering hidden treasures along the Trans Pennine Trail. Whether I’m leaping from branch to branch or searching for tasty acorns, every day is a new adventure with my friends on the Trail.

Who are you?
I’m Sophie, a squirrel who loves to climb, explore, and find new surprises!

Where’s your home?
I live in cosy nests high up in the trees, but you might spot me dashing through woodlands, parks, or even your garden.

What do you look like?
I have soft reddish-brown fur, a bushy tail for balance, and bright eyes that spot every little detail. My sharp claws help me climb and collect food.

What do you eat?
I love nibbling on acorns, nuts, seeds, and sometimes berries or mushrooms. I always store a few snacks for later!

What’s interesting about squirrels?
Squirrels are amazing climbers and can leap long distances between trees. We’re also great at remembering where we hide our food.
