BHS Ride - Sykehouse - Saturday 8th May 2010
Well the sun didn't shine as much as we would have liked but at least the rain held off ...... and what a fantastic turn out, with 40 participants!
Thanks to everyone who came and took part, or supported in other ways. I hope you all agree it was a great day for everyone. Thanks especially to Di and all at Sykehouse Arena - a fantastic venue and a very welcome cafe for both organisers and participants.
We'd love to hear from any participants - here's some feedback we've already had:-
'Just wanted to thank everyone for organising the Sykehouse TPT ride which we enjoyed enormously!!
Nice weather and a pleasant course. It was nice to use as an exercise ride for my friend and I with our endurance horses and we were joined by another friend and her ex-steeplechaser making his debut at this type of event. Everything went well and the rosettes at the end were beautiful. Thanks again and hopefully we will get to the Wakefield and Cadeby rides next!' Sarah Appleby & Orrie, Pat Dodd & Khalif & Debbie Blankley & Zac
'I write to thank you for organising these rides. I did the Dunford Bridge one two weeks ago, and have today ridden in the second one from Sykehouse with my friend Nicky Wareing. I intend to complete as many of the ten as I can. Both rides have been very well organised with friendly people to wave us off and present our lovely rosettes at the finish. The maps and talk-through were very good. Today's ride was a super route with lovely surroundings and new experiences for our horses - the bridges over the river caused a little consternation! Once again, thank you very much for providing us with such a fab day's outing.' Cathy Bedforth
'Me and my friend took part in the ride that went from Sykehouse Arena this Saturday just gone, just wanted to say we had a great time and thank you to those that organised the event.' Becky Patchett
'Just wanted to say thank you for a lovely day last Saturday, we really enjoyed the ride and our ponies enjoyed the change of scenery too! ' Sara Ender
'I would also just like to say that I had a great day and will definately be riding that route again. A big thanks to everyone for organising it!' Kirsty Alberry
'Thanks for a marvellous outing. The three of us who brought Icelandic Horses enjoyed the event greatly. We found the conditions underfoot ideal for our horses to employ their fourth gait, the Tolt. Maybe we shall meet up with some of the other riders again at the Hornsea ride on Sunday, June 13th?' John Jessop
'Just done the second ride at Sykehouse. Had to have a change of horse due to a shoe problem, but had a lovely ride around. Very different to the first but still a nice change. Again everyone very helpful and the welcome cafe at the end.' Karen Toon
