New - Equestrian Guide to the TPT
We are pleased to announce publication of the first six sections of the new TPT Equestrian Guide. These are designed to be an accompaniment to the TPT maps, but give much more detailed information on the route than is available on the maps such as gates, stiles, details of hazards and the proportion of on and off road in each section. The details in these guides have been compiled for us by volunteer horse riders for horse riders so people can be sure that they provide realistic information.
The first sections of the guide cover the route from Hadfield to Penistone, Wortley and Grenoside, as well as the section from Stockport to Hattersley. Copies of the first sections of the guide can be requested from the TPT office or can be downloaded from our website.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the volunteers that have contributed to the development of these first sections of the equestrian guide. This is very much an ongoing project and I hope that we will be able to publish more sections of the Equestrian Guide later in the year and eventually have guides for all the horse riding sections of the route. Any horse riders interested in volunteering to helping us develop a section of the guide for their local area of the Trail should contact Mandy Loach in the TPT Office on 01226 772574 or info@transpenninetrail.org.uk.
