Maps can be purchased from some Tourist Information Centres and booksellers near the route or from our shop.
Three maps cover the route. If you are planning to do the full coast to coast route, you will need Map 1 and Map 3. The North / South route from Leeds to Chesterfield is all covered by Map 2. Visit our shop for more details of the maps.
These maps are produced at 1:50,000 scale in a strip map format, so show the walking, cycling and horse riding routes and a few miles either side of the route. Maps also show stations, parking, local facilities and many places of interest along the route. You can see an extract of the maps below.
'I have now completed the whole of the TPT and have learned a great deal about the route. I now know that your maps are essential. Although they look complicated they do in fact contain all the information required.' Roger Turner (8 July 2002).
We receive regular requests for maps to be made available on-line. Unfortunately, due to copyright and limited resource we are unable to make route maps available through the TPT website at present. For cyclists, as the TPT is part of the National Cycle network, online mapping can be found on the Sustrans website - please note this only shows the cycling route of the TPT the route.
