If you're looking for a breath of fresh air, or wanting to sample the Trans Pennine Trail before you plan a longer trip, why not take a day out?
'New' Trail Trips Guides
To help you explore the Trail we have create a series of new, exciting 'Trail Trips' across the whole of the route. These easy to follow guides will get you out and about exploring the varied scenery, tracks and quiet lanes that make up the TPT.
Please don't be put off if the distances look a bit too much, the distances stated are 'there and back' so all of the routes can be cut short - just turn round when you've gone as far as you want to go! While these routes have been designed as cycle routes, they are equally suitable for walkers in short sections and some are available to horse riders too.
Trail Trips
Thanks to Alan Hollingworth (Volunteer Ranger) for compiling these route guides.
And look out for more Trail Trips being added in the coming months!
Other Day Trip Ideas
We have a few more route ideas below for you to try, but you might also want to look at our pages about the main Traffic Free sections of the TPT for cyclists and the Equestrian Guide for horse riders. To keep children entertained while you are out on the Trail take a look at the Treasure Hunts and other ideas in our Kids section.
Don't forget that while the route is well signed, you might want to get the appropriate TPT map to guide you on you trip - you can get these from our shop.
