Go on, get on your bike and let's pedal together to help fight cancer! Join the charity for this fantastic day on Sunday 16th June at Worsbrough Country Park, Barnsley and raise vital funds that will help improve the lives of thousands of cancer patients. There really is a ride for everyone- · 35 mile Ultimate Pedal · 4 mile Grand Pedal · 2 mile Mini Pedal. 23 June 2013Heritage Trail - Lymm Festivaloff Statham Avenue, Lymm Ranger Centre
Lymm has a fascinating history. When was the Dam built and what did they slit at the Slitting Mill? The road past the church was called Penny Hill - why? And when did the railway arrive and where did it go? The answer to these questions and more can be found on this self-guided quiz trail as part of Lymm Festival 2013. The full circular route is 3.5 miles and take in Lymm Dam, Slitten Gorge, the Trans Pennine Trail and the Bridgewater Canal, but you can do a shorter version if you dont want to do the lot.

Two vibrant cities linked by one historic route crossing the backbone of England - The Trans Pennine Trail. In June 2013 you can take on the Trans Pennine Challenge from Manchester to Sheffield as a walk or as a run in aid of a charity of your choice. Experience a journey that you won't forget along with 1500 other adventurers that mix's urban and rural, day time and night, and finishes with an amazing sense of achievement as the finish line is crossed. 100 km: Manchester to Sheffield. Epic 24+ hour walk or Ultramarathon run! 50 km: Manchester to Penistone. A tough day time walk or 'Marathon Plus' run. Sign up as a team of friends, colleagues or family and support each other, or join as an Individual and meet fellow challengers along the way. However you tackle the Trans Pennine Challenge - you'll be fully supported by our team.

14 September 2013 - 20 September 2013Snaith Walking FestivalSnaith, Snaith
The ancient market town of Snaith has history, heritage, waterways and natural beauty all around, which can be discovered and enjoyed during the walking festival, starting with a celebration of Heritage Open Days. This is the 2nd Snaith Walking Festival and there is a varied programme of over 20 walks, from a leisurely stroll to a 16 mile hike with something to suit any age and ability. The list includes a pub walk, Heritage Walks, a tour of a nature reserve, riverside walks and The Bannockburn Trail. The trail roughly follows the route taken by King Edward II in 1314 from his hunting lodge at Cowick (Snaith) to Adlingfleet, where he had an army of men and military supplies ready for boarding ships bound for Scotland.
Open: Also on Saturday September 14th is Snaith & Cowick Heritage Day- an action packed day at locations all around the town with an information point at Snaith Priory Church.Price: There is also a Pick 'n' Mix event. Self guided walking for everyone with 4 clearly marked routes 1, 2, 3 + 4 miles in length that can be picked 'n' mixed, with a certificate for every walker stating their overall achievement.

Join us for a brisk, October walk of approximately 7.5 miles. As the days get shorter and the first signs of autumn are showing, we will be visiting sections of the Trans Pennine Trail, Hillcliffe, Appleton Reservoir and Moore Nature Reserve. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and bring a packed lunch.
